Hi, I'm Ashley.

I start companies and build them up. Then I get the f*ck out of the way. That instinct runs through everything I've made: Refract Ventures, Ledger Collective, and a handful of brands across hospitality and software. I build the engine, hand over the keys, and go looking for the next thing worth building.

And here's the part most people miss: I'm a category creator. I don't start with a product, I start with the problem, and I think big about it. Different, not better. Better is a race on someone else's track; different means drawing a new one. Ryan Hansen, my co-founder at Ledger Collective, shares that instinct innately. It's the thing we bring to the world together.

By wiring, I'm an engineer. By compulsion, I'm a writer. The two finally make sense together: the more I build, the more I have to say, and the more I write, the clearer I get on what to build next.

Somewhere in there I went to design school, just to scratch an itch. Turns out creating spaces where people feel happy is the thing that fuels my fire. You can feel it in the hospitality side of everything I make.

Do I think anyone needs my take? Honestly, I'm never sure anyone cares what I have to say. I write for the self-expression of it, and because to teach is to know. It's how I understand myself.

Most of what I post gets about three likes. It has never once stopped me. I think I do inspire people; I just think the ones I inspire are quiet. And I love that, for them and for me.

I like to show up unexpectedly, for all of it. There's something I love about no one quite knowing who I am.

Mostly I care about one thing right now: helping people find their footing in the age of AI. The ground is moving under all of us. I'd rather be out ahead of it, taking notes, than waiting for someone to explain what just happened.

But the thing that actually grounds me is my family.

Cody: my devoted husband and biggest inspiration. My twin flame, my soulmate, the blue dino to my pink dino. I basically just want to live in his backpack.

Cash: my son and eternal sidekick. The one who's stood by me through every last one of my shenanigans and found a way to have fun anyway. Never one to let himself be bored.

Jordan: my stepdaughter, who two years ago hopped on this ride with me as an Airbnb host and has held steady and calm through all the chaos. All the glory to her; I'm a hot mess.

Jacey: my other stepdaughter. The quiet one who notices every detail, just gets sh*t done, and who we genuinely can't live without.

And Navy and Iverson: our two beautiful grandbabies, who give life new meaning and excitement.

And the four-legged crew: Sky, my good boi, and Kingsley the cat, put on this earth to keep me company so everyone else can catch a break every once in a while.

I'm based in Arkansas. I cuss a little, I sleep more than I used to, and I believe progress is built daily. If anything I make helps you stand on steadier ground, that's the whole point.
